The House of Cards Spring Classic is in the books, and what an event it was! Yesterday was truly amazing, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support from the BC Magic community.
A Community United
The turnout was nothing short of spectacular, with players traveling from Vancouver Island, the Interior, and all corners of the Lower Mainland. It was heartwarming to see such a diverse group of enthusiasts coming together to share their love for Magic: The Gathering. The energy and camaraderie in the room were palpable, making it a day to remember.
Highlights of the Day
The event was packed with excitement and variety, offering something for every type of Magic player:
Team Trios Tournament: Our Team Trios event was a major highlight, with a huge turnout and an impressive prize pool of $4000. The competition was fierce, and the teamwork on display was truly inspiring.
Legacy Event: We hosted our first big Legacy event, and it was a resounding success. The level of play was outstanding, and we’re thrilled to have provided a platform for Legacy players to showcase their skills. Congratulations to James Onions for taking down our Legacy event!
Modern RCQ+: The Modern Regional Championship Qualifier Plus (RCQ+) brought out some of the best Modern players in the region. The battles were intense, and the strategies on display were top-notch.
MH3 Drafts: Modern Horizons 3 drafts were a hit, with players diving into the latest set and exploring its unique mechanics and powerful cards. The drafts were fast-paced and full of surprises.
Commander Pods: No event would be complete without Commander, and we had a ton of Commander pods running throughout the day. It was great to see so many epic battles and creative decks in action.
A Special Thanks
Events like these wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and hard work of several key individuals. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our fantastic Judge staff—Aaron, Jovy, Steven, and Sam. Their expertise and professionalism ensured that everything ran smoothly, allowing players to focus on enjoying the games.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire House of Cards team. A lot goes into organizing these events, and they involve long days and meticulous planning. Your hard work and commitment are deeply appreciated, and it’s because of you that the event was such a success.
